1862): John B. bought 160 acres in the Chickasaw Survey (SW 1/4, Sec.
23, Twp. 2, Range 8) in Alcorn County, Mississippi from John

February 23, 1870 (recorded March 8,
1870): John B.'s wife Sarah along with her brothers and sisters sold
386 acres in Alcorn County, Mississippi for $450. [AlC deed CC:196-7]
January 10, 1872 (recorded February 9,
1872): John B. bought the south east quarter of Section 11, Township 2,
Range 8 East for $800. [AlC deed 1:193]
February 13, 1872 (recorded February 24,
1872): John B. bought all but 20 acres of the south west quarter of

1881): John B. sold the south west quarter of Section 23, Township 2,

December 16, 1874 (recorded March 25,
1875): Sarah, John B.'s wife, along with Mary H. Vanderford, wife of
John Daniel (4091), J. T. Jobe and T. F. F. Jobe bought
180 acres lying east of the Mobile and Ohio Railroad in Section 24, Township 2,

May 6, 1875: John B.'s real property
consisted of the 160 acres of the SE 1/4 of Section 11, Township 2, Range 8
valued at $3.00 per acre and 140 acres of the SW 1/4 of Section 12, Township 2,

John B. paid $150 for John Daniel Vanderford's (4091)
quarter interest in the 180 acres on the east side of the Mobile and Ohio
Railroad in Section 24, Township 2, Range 8 East in Alcorn County, Mississippi.

January 20, 1880 (recorded February 7 and 12,
1880): John B. and his father-in-law exchanged land in Section 24,
Township 2, Range 7. John took the 80 acres on the east side of the Mobile and
Ohio Railroad and gave up the 92 acres on the west side.

1897: Sallie, John's widow, was living in
Farmington's District No. 2. Her assessed personal property was 7 head of
cattle valued at $55, 2 horses valued at $100, 1 mule valued at $50, 1 carriage
valued at $25 and a piano valued at $50 and she paid a state tax of $1.82. She
also had 2 cows and 7 hogs which were exempt from the tax.
