Information:

1900:
Art, with his brothers Beverly (5020) and Alva, was working on his father's farm in Osage Township, Labette County, Kansas. [census-Kan]

Art moved to Walla Walla, Washington and worked as chief cabinet maker in a large furniture store. [Griffitts]

After Art was married, they bought an alfalfa farm at Grandview, Idaho on the Snake River. Art also had a blacksmith shop on the farm. [Griffitts]

September 12, 1918:
According to Art's World War I Draft Registration Card he was farming in Grand View, Owyhee County, Idaho. He was of medium height and build with blue eyes and brown hair. [wwi]

1919:
Art sold the farm and bought the Chevrolet and Buick Agency in Payette, Idaho. [Griffitts]

1920:
Art owned his home on 4th Avenue North in Payette, Idaho and was in the automobile business. [census-Ida]

1929:
The Great Depression hurt financially, so Art sold the car agency and moved to Vale, Oregon. He continued in the car business and bought a pool hall and beer bar in Vale which he sold upon retirement. [Griffitts]
