Information:
November 30, 1899: The news was received in
the city this morning of the death of Martin Vanderford, a well known
railroadman who left Fort Wayne several years ago to accept a position on a
western road. Mr. Vanderford was the son of Mrs. Joseph Harter of 170 West Main
Street. The details of the accident are not given. The remains will arrive in
the city this evening and the funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at the
Wayne Street Methodist church. The funeral will be under the auspices of the
Knights of Pythias, of which order the deceased was a member.
