Grundy County, MissouriCoon Creek CemeteryThis cemetery is located in the Coon Creek Church yard, in Madison Township; S28-T61N-R25W. It is mowed and the stones are in reasonable condition (1964). As is true in many old cemeteries, there are many unmarked graves or those marked by native stones only. There is a record of these unidentified graves at the end of the listing. The cemetery was recorded in 1964 by Mrs. John Sheetz.
Buried here: Spickard Masonic CemeteryThis cemetery is located one mile east of Spickard on State Route B in S22-T63N-R24W. No fence along the road, but a new fence along property of others. Consists of about six acres; graveled roads throughout cemetery. The cemetery is kept in excellent condition. The Cemetery Association received a deed from the Masonic Cemetery in 1954. The Cemetery has an Endowment plan, whereby each lot may be endowed for $100.00 and only the interest may be used for maintenance; all endowment funds must be invested in US Government Bonds. Practically all graves are marked; stones are in good condition. About 80 Veterans of the Civil War, Spanish American War, WW I and WW II are buried. The cemetery was recorded in 1962 by Mrs. Lee Hathaway, with additions in 1964 by Mrs. Vernal Ralston. Buried here: |
