The Princeton Cemetery is located on Highway 65 in
the northern edge of the city of Princeton and is the main cemetery for the
city. The cemetery dates to the late 1840s, and MANY of the stones are worn,
broken and/or down and can no longer be read. This survey should not be
considered a complete listing of those buried there. Older lists and surveys
that will contain additional names and information are available at the Mercer
County Library in Princeton. Due to its size, the Princeton Cemetery is being
surveyed in sections. This section is the "older" portion of the northern end
of the cemetery and was surveyed by Phil and Kathi Stewart on February 22,
2004.
Salem Cemetery is located three miles east and one
mile north of Mill Grove, Missouri. It is one of the oldest organized
cemeteries in the area, with stones dating back to the 1840s. The years have
taken a toll on the older (eastern) section of the cemetery, where numberous
stones are down, broken and unreadable. Therefore, this should not be
considered a complete list of burials. This survey was conducted by Phil &
Kathi Stewart on March 12, 2003.

Mary Ellen (wife of 4070) Vanderford, James (son of
