Information:
June 4, 1941: Floyd enlisted as a private
in the Army at Portland, Oregon. He is listed as single, with 4 years of high
school and employed as a gas and oil man. He was 6'1" and weighed 186 pounds.

March 6, 1943: Miss Thelma
Susette Vanderford became the bride of Army Air Cadet Floyd R. Jensen in a
candlelight ceremony taking place Saturday evening, March 6th, in the Chapel of
Sacred Memories Methodist Church in Bakersfield. 
June 18, 1943: Floyd graduated in the Class
of 43-F from the Air Force Advanced Flying School at Stockton Field,
California.
March 1944 to May 1945: Floyd flew B-25s
during his Southwest Pacific Tour of Duty. His story is here.

July 1, 1944: Floyd had been promoted to
First Lieutenant in the Army Air Force. He had completed 29 missions when he
wrote. 
August 17, 1944: Floyd had recently been
decorated with the Air Medal for aerial flights in the Southwest Pacific Area
from March 14 to May 15, 1944. 
1945-90: Thelma and Floyd moved to the
Vanderford Ranch west of Gridley, California where they raised rice, oats and
