1755, 1757, 1758, 1760 and 1761:
Samuel is listed on the Granville County, North Carolina tax list. [Wicasta]

March 1757:
Samuel bought land on the Buffalo Branch in Granville County, North Carolina. [Wicasta]

April 29, 1760, recorded February Session 1792:
Samuel's will named his wife and three sons but was written 30 years before his death. At the time he wrote his will, Samuel stated he was sick. It is not known if he recovered and lived another 30 years or if the family waited until it was necessary to probate his will. In 1792 his son Samuel died and there would have been a need to clear title on the property he had inherited. [Ting]
