An indenture of Bargain and Sale from Christina Matts to William Reece for 11 acres of land. [Lincoln Co., TN Court Minutes Vol. 2 p 42]

William transfers for one wagon to James Woodford his interest in the Estate of Thomas Woodford of 100 acres on Wolf Creek. [Bedford Co. VA Deed Book 22, p 360]

1845 or 1846:
William and family along with about 40 other families left Tennessee in a caravan bound for Texas, "a land of rolling plains and teeming acres, where money grew on trees and mines of wealth lay beneath the sod." They arrived near Paris, Texas around Christmas. However, the rolling plains held no appeal for the weary travelers and before unpacking, someone suggested. "Let's go back to Tennessee!" This met with approval from all, and the caravan turned back east, retracing their journey. One evening they camped at a spring near what was to become Corinth, Arkansas. The whispering pines and spreading oaks as well as the lush grass and rippling streams seemed to give a warm welcome so they stayed. [Howard County Heritage]

1850:
William and Katherine were farming next door to their son Jordan's family in Brewer Township, Pike County, Arkansas. [census-Ark]
